Sorry for the lack of updates!!! have been having a traumatic week so far!! Car died and had to take nearly an hour long bus ride to get a courtesy car... not fun... my advice... don't go to carcraft and pay over the odds just cause you get a two years warranty.... not wort the hassle!!!
I realised that I haven't added the pics like i should have done... thinking i may just wack a load in the final post if it'll let me... got BIG errors for trying more than one pic... and to think i spent 2 years in my previous jod as an IT geek... soon got drummed out of me!!
anyhow....
Finally managed to strip and sand off all the crap... was quite upset not to find some kind of decent wood underneath... feels really heavy like mahogany but seems to be some kind of mdf style mash up of woods.... there goes my theory of it being a previously decent guitar!!!
Had to get the wood filler involved in a couple o cracks and some slight splintery bits around the headstock... just need to sand it all down before spraying.... still haven't decided what to do with it yet... I have the basic plan but wanna do something to make it stand out a bit.... hmm...
Ordered all my bits.... spent approximately £65 so far on a full set of hardware and wiring kit... leaves me with £35.... what to do what to do...
I may have a cunning plan!!! muahahahahahahaha... or not... you'll never know!!!
Just need to learn how to wire up cheapy single wire pickups!!!

First Job.... Stripping
Wow!!! sussed out how to add pictures.... This may get interesting... though it turns out that I seem to have the shakiest hands ever... as it took me 30 attempts to get these pictures.... and they're crap!
Firstly.... the guitar... Pre-stripped - Delightful eh?

The Neck - H
eadstock to be stripped for paint and minor repair around tuner holes.
The Workshop - Small coridor type room at the back of our flat... leads outside... ventilation = good!

The Tools - Small heat gun... stolen from my wifes craft stuff... shhhh.... Evil metal scrapey tool... does what it says... Tabs... mmmm.... nicotine... much needed for situations of anger and burning flesh...

I found that the small heat gun was ideal... then discovered that the paint was evil... what ever type of paint it was i reckon if you collected all the flakes and heated it you would actually be able to use it again... where as the proper guitar stuff just came off straight away... now once i strip the final bit of paint off I'll have to spend ages sanding it down... where as the headstock is almost ready to be painted... barring the filler needed...
The pics weren't working... I may have sorted it later but for now i'll try to add them... fingers crossed...
Balls... will try tomorrow.... makes the blog a bit poo now without pics :(

Reet then Chaps.... It Starts... Background!
How do peeps...
Expecting the only chaps who'll be reading this will be from MusicRadar.com... Hiya!!!
Late starter for this little challenge.... a bit stupid when I need to refurbish a house in the next few weeks to! I'm full of cracking ideas!!
Spotted this and had a think about it.... and I've had this guitar body for ages... and i mean 2 years... been planning it for ages but never got round to starting... This little idea has motivated the unmotivateable.... if that's even a word!!! maybe lazy tw@t would be better!!!
Was hoping to post pictures.... No idea how to do it yet so there's possibly gonna be some gaps...
I first was given the "guitar" to fix up as a favour. I was told to make it "awesome" by the colleague who passed it over... shortly after i lost my job... boo hoo... (basterds would have sacked me if i hadn't walked out... grrrrr..) anyhow... tried contacting him over the next few months and no reply so I claimed it for me!!!
The story behind it is the chaps (whom gave me the guitar) mates little brother had been to see the vandals and was given the guitar from a roadie cause the neck was bust.... the kid decided to paint it.... with what seemed like a mix of hammerite, nail polish and sawdust.... I spent 3-4hrs one day trying to sand it down and got through some areas... only a small amount mind... and it looks like it posibly could have been an 80's jackson / charvel.... black with the cream cracked finish (cream in the cracks of a black guitar).... and fix the neck by putting a squire neck... delightful fit.... specially liked the action so high you hat to stand on it to fret a note... anyhow.... it has been sat for a ver long time waiting to achieve past glories.... bring on the challenge!!!!
